BBC 157 helped me to recover from a ligament injury, accelerated my gut healing, and helped me to recover from workouts. Here is liquid sublingual form of BBC 157. Here is the same peptide but in capsule form. And here is the injectable form. Out of nearly 10 peptides I've tested, it has consistently brought me good results in terms of healing from different things. I wanted to share you what BBC 157 is. What does the science say about its effects, how I use it, and what did improve and what didn't. If you're into health, wellness, and longevity, consider subscribing to my channel and giving this video a thumbs up because it really helps the channel growth. So, I'll soon cover all of the effects that I noticed with BBC 157. But first, what is BBC 157? BBC stands for body protection compound 157? It's a 15 amino acid chain that's derived from a peptide found naturally in the human stomach acid. And just to be clear, no one is actually harvesting stomach acid. It's just a fragment that scientists discovered and recreated in a lab out from much larger peptide that is naturally found in humans. So, uh BBC is also not officially a supplement. It's not a vitamin or a herb and it's not an FDA approved medication for any condition. So, it's sold as a research peptide and technically it's not for human use. Though let's just say most of that research seems to happen in sore joints and gym bags. So yes, humans very much use it. And the mechanism of action we get mostly from animal data and preclinical studies showing the following benefits. Firstly, it promotes blood flow via improved angiogenesis which is blood vessel formation as well as increased nitric oxide pathways. Secondly, it seems to support tendon, joint, ligament, fascia and skin regeneration via improved migration of fibroblasts which are needed for collagen remodeling. And thirdly, it seems to be anti-inflammatory. So it reduces these inflammatory factors especially in the gut for example TNF alpha. So my first experience with BBC 157 was after a lateral collateral ligament damage after a biking accident. Was painful. Cannot recommend. But I used this stable liquid BBC 157 250 micrograms once a day sublingually. And what I really appreciated in the sublingual form was that there is no needles, so it's easy to just take without having to even ingest a pill. Also, because it bypasses the digestion in the gut, it is supposed to have a better absorption, but I haven't seen any direct comparative studies with this specific peptide. Okay, so the timeline when I started using this was more or less this. By week two, I noticed that my pain and stiffness in the knee significantly dropped. And by week three, I was kneeling down already, which I couldn't do before. And I was doing gentle rehab and little bit of movement at the gym as well. And by week eight, I had pretty much full mobility in the joint and I was able to go to the gym regularly. Of course, lower weights, but I was still going. And by month eight, I was actually squatting nearly double my body weight. So it all sounds very good but I also did other therapies like red light therapy, collagen peptides, glucosamine, high protein meals, controine, boron and physical therapy. I of course threw everything at it because I really didn't want the surgery but the rate of healing was aligned with what the animal data shows about BBC's effects on these kind of injury healing. And also my doctor told me that actually my recovery is a lot faster than expected. So I still consider that as a win. So the next use case that I had was for muscle recovery and I used this injectable BBC 157. The injection may have a better systemic effect. Of course, there is a little bit of a process because you need to ster you need a sterile needle and you need to sterilize the side of injection and you actually need to inject. But I still consider it was worth it because I did experience less post-workout soreness. I was recovering way faster from my workouts. And specifically, I noticed I usually have this lingering rib pain when I do squats, which can last about a week. And after using this peptide, I only had it once and it lasted only 48 hours. I was also using TB 500. So, this is what I combined it with. It is an other regenerative peptide. It's a fragment of thyos in beta 4 and it supports acting remodeling and tissue regeneration. Together they seem to have an good effect. Finally, I really appreciated the capsule form in one specific case. So, I had a mold exposure and then backto back two food poisonings. Fun times. I got pretty severe gut symptoms. I wanted to see if this capsule could help support the gut repair. The aura capsule, the dose is exactly the same what I was using before with injectable and with the sublingual one. But the thing is that BPC 157 is unusually stable in the stomach acid unlike most peptides, which means that it can have an effect. If you ingest it and it goes to the gut, it can actually have an effect right there. And it is studied in different gut conditions and it seems promising. And what I noticed is within couple weeks my bloating went down and my food intolerance improved significantly especially for carbohydrate. I also had way better energy after eating. And then one bonus that I really enjoyed with BBC is that my skin cleared up. So the gut skin axis was doing its thing. Later I added KPV into the mix and other tripeptide that has shown anti-inflammatory effects in the gut and so they worked synergistically. Finally I want to talk about what didn't improve. So despite some hype or some anecdotal reports around it, I myself didn't see any difference in my mood or mental health or cognitive performance. I definitely still also needed my movement, my sunlight, my sleep, and yes, my coffee. Also, if you are hoping BBC will replace exercise, it won't. But I am watching a new peptide called OS01 or ATX304, which is an emerging peptide that might mimic some exercise related benefits through activating AMPK. So, they're in the making, and I'll link my interview with Ryan Smith on those below. Summary: Would I try this peptide again? Yes, I would use it for gut healing, for muscle recovery, and for joint healing. However, I must say it's not a shortcut. You know, it don't replace the basic sleep and recovery and all of those um basic stuff. So, it's not a shortcut. It's a lever. It's like a gentle notch for your body towards the right direction instead of a loophole. So, that's it for this video. I'll link some studies below.
