How long does it take for BPC-157 to kick in? Well, in this video, I'm going to share with you some interesting stories and how other people have used BPC-157 for athletic injuries. I'll also talk about one of my friends, a client of EastWest and Kelly, who used this to treat her colitis. And I'll talk to you about the timeframes and how you can use it. So by the end of this video, you'll have the knowledge of when to say when, as far as maybe this stuff's just never going to work for me, but I'll also show you how you can maximize its effectiveness. So let's jump in. So first of all, BPC-157 or body protective complex is one of the most popular peptides. I mean, I love BPC-157 because I can use it for any kind of gastrointestinal issues. Like if I'm traveling a lot, or if I've been down in Peru or Mexico, you kind of bring some bugs back occasionally. I do every time. And I just find BPC-157 is really supportive when you're using some of these antiparasitic agents, but not all BPC is created equal because some of it doesn't have the right bonding. It doesn't have the right acetyl groups. And so you may never experience a benefit. And so how do you differentiate those? And that's the real premise of this video. So if you go back and we'll differentiate BPC-157 into two categories, one is the way that it works on healing wounds to the body. So if you've had, maybe you strained a pectoral muscle, you know, one of my clients, Adam, he was bench pressing and he tore part of his pec. And I said, well, take the BPC-157 and just inject it into the area that's injured. And I know you guys are like, you inject it into the chest, you'll puncture a lung, but he's got nice big pectoral muscles and he's using a little tiny insulin syringe. So do this safely. Do not pull out your big needle and try to navigate this on your own. I'm not recommending that. But BPC-157, as he injected it, he said, man, it was not progressing. It was just kind of staying the same. It wasn't improving at all. And then he, when he started injecting right into that injury, injury, the injury healed up. There's another interesting story with BPC-157 with Aaron Rogers. And he, you know, he talked openly about this, but he actually used it when he had an Achilles tendon injury. And, you know, a lot of people said this is going to be the end of his career, but actually Aaron Rogers started using BPC-157. He also received stem cell injections and he was able to recover in record time, but it wasn't just a recovery. It was actually where he was just as strong. It's not like he had some kind of vulnerability or weakness in his Achilles tendon. And, you know, he went on and played phenomenal football with the Green Bay Packers that season. So if you look at the utilizations of it, BPC-157 is, it was first discovered out of a university in Croatia. And what the researchers were looking at is novel structures, novel proteins that every cell in the body needed. And they found that BPC-157 was like this universal healer. And that's why they call it the body protective complex. Some of the pathways that BPC-157 works on is it works on the VEGF pathway or the vascular endothelial growth factor pathway. This pathway is really important because it can help increase nitric oxide, which is one of the signaling gases, because, you know, if you can get great nitric oxide, you'll have good blood circulation. You'll also have better athletic endurance and better recovery because you're getting better oxygenation to your tissues. BPC-157 has neuroprotective properties. In one of the studies, they found mice who had had traumatic brain injuries induced by the researchers dropping bricks on the heads of these poor little mice. They found that BPC-157, the mice that had this in their water performed far better than the control group that had no BPC-157 in their group. The mice were able to make it through mazes better after the post-TBI, but they were also able to gain their dexterity faster than the mice that did not have it. So BPC is, it activates the neuroplasticity or BDNF in the brain. And then the other area that's really fascinating is the use of BPC-157 on the gut. And this leads me to Kelly Nemensky, and she actually has, you know, shared videos about her journey through East West, but she was a friend of mine's good friend. And Charlie said, you got to see Reagan, Kelly, because she was literally just, her body was so starved with nutrients. She was down in like 98, 96 pounds, and her healthy weight would be like 130, 140 pounds. And she was trying all of the natural therapies. She was making her own food, fermenting her own food, but her body just wasn't holding on to nutrients. And the scary thing, thing about this condition is called colitis and ulcerative colitis is most people end up getting part of their colon removed. And so when she came to see us, I said, man, this is a tough case. And I don't know if we can help you in the ways that you want and the speed you want, but I can tell you, we've got some strategies that you have not tried yet. And as anything in medicine, the deeper that you dig and the more you look for causes and the more you look at mechanism of action. So you start looking at the pathways that are blocked, the deficiencies that need to be built up, and you remove those blockages and build up the deficiencies, we see dramatic improvements. And the thing I love about peptides is they're just protein structures that can turn on genes so that your body can heal itself. And so as we got Kelly going on a protocol, and this goes back to the original question that many of you had is how long does it take for BPC-157 to kick in? Well, in Kelly's case, with a severe colitis, it took about six to eight weeks before she started noticing a dramatic improvement. And in the process, we were building up different pathways with KPV. We're also using LL-37 because there was some infections we detected in her gut test. We did a stool test for her and she started to notice that she was gaining weight. And she started to notice that she didn't have to look for the bathroom all the time. You know, that was probably the biggest benefit for her because she was sequestered to her house. And any of you have ever had colitis, you know how scary it is because when you have a flare-up, you have a very short window in which you can get to a bathroom. And you know, especially if you have blood in your stool, you want to make sure that you don't ignore this because I've had patients who have let their colitis go too long, and then they end up getting most of their colon removed. And you know, we talked about some of the interferences. Luckily, Kelly had a very pristine lifestyle, eating very clean, managed her stress very well, had this great connection with her husband and family, and she's just a beautiful human. But seeing her now progress was a win for all of us. We're so grateful to see that. But the BPC-157, the way that it helps her colitis, and the reason why it took her six to eight weeks is she had a very severe case. Most of you, if you have any symptoms like acid reflux, or maybe you get bloating, you'll take BPC-157, and you can notice it the day that you take it. I have clients who've had acid reflux for 20 years, and they're tired of taking Tums, they're tired of taking Omeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor. And they say, I just want my gut to work the way it's designed to work. And I don't want to take these drugs that suppress it because they knew how damaging it is to breaking down proteins. So if you think of those of you who take like Omeprazole or Tums, it can cause more osteoporosis or osteopenia in the future. You'd lose the absorption of essential minerals. You also, when you raise up the pH in your stomach, then you're more prone to having issues with protein synthesis. If you eat meat, which, you know, we're big advocates of getting healthy, clean meat and getting your protein consumption, you know, where you want it, adequate for athletic performance and longevity. But if you're not breaking it down, it ends up being putrefied in your gut and you end up having gas and there's other issues that can come along with that. So with Kelly, you know, she started taking it, you know, it wasn't like it was this gradual progression. She had some days are good, some days not, some days are better and then not, and then better and not. And now she's at a place in her life where she can hike, she can be with her family, she can be with her friends, she can travel and she doesn't have to worry about that urgency, you know, having a complete meltdown of her digestive system. So BPC-157, I call it the Swiss army knife of peptides because what it does is it's working on the tendon repair, the ligament repair in your body, recover faster from workouts. For those of you athletes who have used this, you know how quickly your recovery is. I mean, if you're not noticing benefits and you're very healthy and you're optimized, if you've ran your blood labs and you're like, Oh, my testosterone is optimized. My IGF-1 levels are optimized and BPC-157 is not doing the trick. You just don't notice much from it. Then the biggest thing that you want to look at is where it's sourced from. So BPC is not FDA approved. It's generally recognized as safe, but because it's not FDA approved, you're getting a lot of people are getting their peptides on what could consider like the research market where you're just claiming to be a researcher, but really you want to get it from a reputable source. You want to make sure that you're getting it prescribed from licensed physicians. And then you want to make sure that those licensed physicians actually understand how to stack peptides. Because just like Aaron Rogers, when he had his Achilles tendon injected, he did stem cell therapy and then he used BPC-157 to augment the stem. And that's the most important thing is you want to use these substances together where you're going to have this massive breakthrough in healing. It's not just the singular agent of BPC-157. The other place that you want to consider using this is if you're taking any GLP-1. So if you're taking Ozembic, Majuro, any of these weight loss therapies, then BPC-157 will help protect the gut because those GLP-1s are slowing your digestive process. And so I can tell you that the BPC-157 that we use are from pharmacists that put these covalent bonds together in a very selective way. They have these acetylation groups on the end so you get a higher level of expression. A BPC, you can take it as an injectable. You can take it orally. We even have a way of using it through ion to a phoresis where you put a patch on your body. And that patch sends this little electrical current so that you get a greater level of uptake of BPC. Because the half-life is roughly 30 minutes. But if you're using this ion to a phoresis technology, you can have this steady stream of BPC throughout the day. Especially if you've had chronic injuries, you can put it right on your shoulder, your hip, wherever you have the pain. So hopefully that answers your question. Like how quick does it kick in? Well, I can tell you, Aaron Rodgers, it kicked in and he healed about three times faster than most people with that type of injury. But it wasn't just the BPC. I can tell you with Kelly, her ability to recover from colitis, I don't know if she would have been able to do that without BPC 157. I can tell you in my own athletic journey and my recovery, I've seen dramatic turnarounds where I notice it within the day when I've cycled off of it and then I get back on it. I can tell you with my client, Adam, he noticed dramatic improvements in less than two weeks. I mean, he noticed it like by day three, he started seeing improvements. So if you want to go deeper into BPC 157, learn how to stack it, then what you're going to want to do is grab a free copy of my peptide handbook. Now, this is a handbook that I've spent years building. I have some of the nuances that I've learned clinically and I can't wait to share that with you and I'll see you on the next video.
