The video discusses the potential benefits and mechanisms of BPC-157, a peptide that may aid in injury recovery and tissue repair, based on a conversation between Joe Rogan and neuroscientist Andrew Huberman. The speaker provides a balanced view, agreeing with some points and critiquing others.
Key takeaways
- 01BPC-157 may accelerate healing of injuries
- 02It has been shown to repair damaged tissues in various studies
- 03Its mechanisms may involve improving blood flow and modulating wound healing
- 04It may interact with growth hormone in some way, but does not directly mimic its effects

hey everybody peptide buddy here today we're going to react to a conversation Joe Rogan had with Stanford neuroscientist Andrew huberman about bpc157 one of the peptides that started it all here on the channel apology is in advance if there's some background noise it sounds like my neighbor is either hosting a rave or perhaps even a peptide education celebration but all corny comments aside let's get started with the video um so anyway more about peptides yeah so peptides are getting a lot of interest now 57s all her AG it is so um peptides are just small strings of amino acids they can act as hormones so a hormone is a molecule that would released in one point in the body and goes and acts on a bunch of other areas of the body this like testosterone doesn't do one thing it does many many things so it acts kind of as we say systemically peptides can act as hormones so melanotan obviously changes the skin changes libido all sorts of things there are peptides like gp1 157 gastric peptide 157 this is is a peptide that is naturally made by the body but people have synthesized and turned into a compound that they take and inject that does seem to have the ability to repair damaged tissues of various kinds it mimics some of the downstream effects of growth hormone so this is actually I um I actually trained with him once although uh he with far more weight than I this guy Ryan Crowley who tore his peack recently this very dramatic Instagram video where you see him doing an incline press with like 515 and it rips off the bone and now I'm not going to say whether or not Ryan's using GP 157 or not but um I don't think there's anyone needs to do a Natty or not video on him um or maybe they do doesn't matter the the point is that things like GP 157 definitely do accelerate the healing of an injury and there's no question about that and I had a uh tendonitis in my elbow that I just could not fix yeah I started using bpc 157 it was gone in two weeks yeah yeah a lot of people are using GP 157 I the difference between bpc and gp1 bpc is a different I think it's either a different stram of string of amino acids excuse me or something related so I really do like Andrew huberman I think he's a great public speaker and has done a lot of cool research on this interface between science and human health optimization that said I do have some critiques about what was discussed in this video and some things that I don't know are entirely accurate let's start with the most apparent thing there seems to be some confusion here about naming Rogan keeps referring to bpc 157 versus what huberman talks about as gastric peptide 57 or GP 57 so to my knowledge GP 57 does not exist and it's not a thing huberman is likely mistaking bpc 157 for GP 57 as bpc is a gastric peptide a pentadecapeptide derived from Human gastric acid and I don't think it's absurd to consider it GP 57 but if you do your own research on bpc you'll see the biggest alternate names used are pl1 14736 bpc1 15 or in some clinical research the pesin I do certainly agree that bpc157 I.E body protective compound is true to the name it's theorized to act via different physiologic processes to Encompass such a diverse portfolio of healing from alkaline burn injuries to reversal of nset induced damage to muscle Crush injuries and multiple different types of fistulas which are abnormal connections between different body tissues even though data predominantly includes rodent models bpc157 without question shows huge promise and its ability to diffusely heal different types of injuries and I'm not particularly surprised Joe Rogan has found success with it huberman also states that it exhibits properties similar to effects of growth hormone I don't wholeheartedly disagree because recovery is a perceived effect of GH and igf-1 however I don't think it mimics these effects per se mostly because because unlike sorin Torin iamin and all of their similar friends bpc 157 doesn't mimic scientifically any part of the ghrh pathway on top of that the mechanisms by which it's thought to induce the effects of healing are thought less so to be involved with generalized growth and instead are thought to be more intertwined with biochemical processes that improve blood flow like angiogenesis or formation of new blood vessels increasing nitric oxide synthesis and modulating different stages of wound healing among other things I will say that bpc 157 induced increased expression of GH intend and fiber blasts in one study so it's not out of the question that bpc 157 interacts with growth hormone in some way but I worry huberman's terminology could be a bit deceiving to some as these growth hormone releasing peptides are incredibly popular as well that said this was a quick one if you want to see more research derived content on bpc157 I encourage you to subscribe to Channel and watch these different videos because I've got plenty I hope you enjoyed this
