what's up everybody welcome back to the channel we're here we mix a little bit of sarcasm with the occasional existential crisis all in the name of becoming indestructible so if you like stuff like that do me a favor hit the subscribe button thank you so today we're going to be talking about the peptide bpc-157 this is also known as the peptide that gym bros whisper about like it's baltimore but it's the compound that actually might fix your tendons faster than your ego after missing the pr so i would say this video is the ultimate deep dive into tendon repair backed by science a little bit of sarcasm or humor and guaranteed to make you say hey wait why doesn't your doctor tell you about this so grab a protein shake grab your tendon of choice pg-13 please and let's decode bpc-157 all right so first what is even bpc-157 bpc-157 actually stands for body protection compound 157 okay it's a 15 amino acid peptide and it's derived from a gastric protein within your stomach yes your belly was hiding a secret cheat code all this time it's like your body was secretly storing a built-in repair kit but instead of updating you it kind of buried it in the fine print like apple terms and conditions so let's just quickly talk about the scientific basis here so it's naturally found in gastric juices as i mentioned it stabilizes the gut lining and in rodent studies actually shows powerful angiogenic and fibroblast stimulating effects basically it tells your body hey build more blood vessels and fix the damage something most tendons are notoriously bad at before we talk about how bpc-157 helps tendons we need to understand tendons themselves so tendons are like that rope that attaches muscle to bone it's the thing that gets injured right after you tell your friend watch this and it's the tissue with the blood flow of a walk so tendons heal slowly because like i said poor blood supply number one they have a low metabolic activity their collagen remodeling takes forever and because your body apparently hates your ambitions here's a quick fact tendon healing can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months even with perfect rehab so enter bpc-157 kind of like a construction foreman shouting hey boys let's speed this up okay now that we kind of understand what tendons are let's talk about how bpc-157 actually works so it's time to drop the science like dr mike drops a sarcastic comment mid lecture first thing it stimulates angiogenesis which is basically blood vessel creation okay so bp-157 increases vegf which is a growth factor that boosts new blood vessel growth so remember more blood flow equals more nutrients equals faster tendon repair so think of vegf like amazon prime for healing not the two to three day shipping i mean the delivered before you even press confirm version this also stimulates fibroblast activation so fibroblasts are like the workers that rebuild collagen bpc-157 ramps them up like they're on a construction shift with double time pay and the results are faster collagen synthesis more energized tendon fibers and higher tensile strength during healing now it also has anti-inflammatory effects it reduces nfkb so nfkb stands for nuclear factor kappa light chain enhancer of activated b cells try to remember that one okay but basically it's a protein complex that acts as transcription factor meaning it controls the expression of the genes that regulate a wide range of cellular functions it also stimulates pro-inflammatory cytokines okay so this basically helps with swelling and tissue oxidative stress basically it turns down your body's inflammatory overreaction which is usually about as helpful as an all caps youtube comment it's even shown to have some neuroprotective effects so animal studies show bpc-157 actually helps regenerate neuromuscular junctions it helps with peripheral nerves and motor functions after injury it doesn't just help the tendon it actually helps the nerve tendon and connection and wait there's more it's even shown to have some gut healing crossover benefits because it originated from gastric proteins. It also supports intestinal lining repair, ulcer healing, leaky gut improvements, and reduced GH inflammation or GI inflammation. And we all know that a healthy gut means healthy everything, said every fitness influencer ever. Let's talk research. And yes, I know some of you were like, bro, just tell me if it works, but relax. Science is sexy. So first, we're going to talk about the animal studies because there's been 70 plus published animal studies. Okay. And in their findings, it's actually shown that it accelerated tendon to bone healing. There was faster recovery from ligament tears. There was improved muscle regeneration, better healing post Achilles rupture, faster recovery from nerve crush injuries, and improved rotator cuff healing. Some studies even showed that some of these rats were recovering from injuries that would normally cripple them. Yeah, rats bouncing back from injuries faster than a gym bro after his eighth bulk. Unbelievable. Okay, now let's jump into human evidence. Now, here's where it becomes a little bit tricky. There's been very few formal clinical trials here, but there's tons of case reports and practitioner feedback. So that's good. That's something to look at. There's been a lot of orthopedic clinics that frequently report faster than normal rehab timelines. So that's fantastic. So the science is promising, but in all honesty, it's not fully confirmed in humans. Now, I'm going to be 100% honest. I've tried BPC-157 before with a shoulder impingement that I've had, and it worked fantastic. But that doesn't mean that it's going to work for you the same way it worked for me, okay? We're going to talk about dosing, but for educational purposes only, okay? Because I'm not your doctor. I don't pretend to be your doctor, and I don't want your doctor emailing me angry emojis. So the commonly referenced dosing range with this is anywhere from 250 to 500 micrograms daily, okay? For a duration of about four to six weeks in the affected area. Now, these are basically subcutaneous injections and near the injury site. Now, they do have an oral form of this, but the absorption is a little bit questionable with these. And again, this is something that needs to be injected near the injury site, okay? So injecting it near the injury site is kind of like the peptide saying, hey, buddy, the damage is right here. Don't wander off. Now, I wouldn't do my due diligence without talking about safety and side effects. But guess what, people? There's not a lot to report here, which is fantastic. There's a couple very low reported side effects, and it's maybe mild nausea. Sometimes people were reporting being a little bit lightheadedness. And then, of course, temporary injection site irritation. But that could just be somebody not cleaning the injection site or injection site properly. But here's the reality. So again, there's no long-term human safety data here. This isn't FDA approved yet, and it's sold as a research use only peptide. So if you're going to use it, just proceed with caution and, of course, medical guidance. Just because your favorite TikTok guy said, nah, it's totally safe, bro, doesn't mean he's correct, okay? He's also the guy that said creatine is like steroids. Does BPC-157 actually work? Now, again, in my personal experience, it did work great for me. I've heard a lot of people that have used BPC-157 has reported that it works very well. But let's break down the verdict in segments if I can. All right. So for tendon healing, I'd say probably yes, okay? So especially with the animal data, it's overwhelmingly positive. In untreated injuries versus BPC-157 groups, they showed a huge difference. For muscle growth, indirect at best. And what I mean by that is it helps recovery, not hypertrophy. So if you're healing faster, you're able to get into the gym more often and not have to wait longer for whatever is going on to heal. For joint pain, I would say more than likely, possibly, if that makes sense. It does reduce inflammation and it increases the healing rate. So many people have reported relief. What about for injury prevention? I would say maybe, only because healthier tendons resist injury, but the data here is really thin, so I'm not 100% sure. Look, if you're expecting it to give you like Wolverine healing powers, calm down, Logan. But it might actually shave weeks off. just not months but here's what BPC 157 will not do it will not fix a full tendon rupture okay it does not replace physical therapy it will not make you jump like a prime Derrick Rose and it will not automatically repair your I lifted too heavy to impress someone mistake but the good news is it could potentially improve healing speed improve your collagen quality it can reduce inflammation it can support chronic tendon pain recovery and let you return to training sooner so after deep diving into BPC 157 here's my takeaway especially after using it for myself I would say it's one of the most promising peptides for tendon and ligament repair the science especially animal research is incredibly strong human data is limited but real-world results especially my own are pretty compelling it's not magic but it's not hype either so if you're gonna use it use it responsibly and with a well-designed rehab plan and if you're dealing with tendon issues this might be worth discussing with a professional who knows what they're doing not the one guy who says bro I'll send you a vile if you liked this video please do me a favor smash that like button like it's your tendon and you're trying to heal it faster subscribe for more science and ways to not fall apart after 30 stay strong stay smart and take care of your tendons coach mark out
